General Information

NwOESC has a staff of  approximately 300 employees along with a large number of afterschool program and substitute employees. There are a variety of potential career opportunity areas with our service organization. We welcome your application for employment consideration with our organization for specific vacancies. As you complete an application, please complete the entire application and provide accurate information. The information you provide is your opportunity to introduce yourself to our organization and present your educational and professional qualifications for the position you are seeking.

When vacancies are posted, applications are screened and candidates are selected for an interview based on their skills and qualifications as presented on the application.  If you are looking for a teaching position or paraprofessional position you may want to consider applying as a substitute until you find a regular position.  Application for employment will not automatically place you on the substitute list nor will a substitute application automatically place you in an interview for hire list.

POSITION: School Psychologist either Full or Part-Time; working with preschool and/or K-12; starting August 2018 (for the 2018/19 school year)

QUALIFICATIONS: Hold a valid Ohio School Psychologist License

DESCRIPTION:

  • Must have knowledge of various testing protocols

  • Complete evaluation process in compliance with ODE Special Education Operating Standards

  • Participate in building RTI and student assistance teams

  • Meet with parents as needed

  • Preschool: work as part of a play-based assessment team

  • Other duties pertaining to evaluations and/or counseling as requested by supervisor

 

LOCATION: Defiance, Fulton, Williams, and/or Henry Counties

CONTRACT: Per school calendar

SALARY: Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience

BENEFITS: Paid sick leave and personal leave. Health, dental, vision and life insurance are available if working over 25 hours/week. Membership in State Teachers Retirement System.

PART-TIME POSITION: Home Instructor/ Intervention Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS: Hold Ohio Department of Education Intervention Specialist licensure; or Long-Term Intervention Specialist Substitute License.

DESCRIPTION: Plan and implement lessons that facilitate student progress toward achieving IEP goals. Complete progress reports and update IEPs as needed. Work in a one-on-one setting with a student in the home or other chosen location. Vary instructional techniques to address individual student needs. Communicate high expectations for students and show an active interest in their progress.

LOCATION: Itinerant; Fulton County

CONTRACT: Per school calendar

SALARY: Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience

MULTIPLE POSITIONS:  Paraprofessionals

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must hold or obtain an educational aide permit and pass background checks. Must have an Associate’s Degree or equivalent or passing score on the Parapro Assessment for highly qualified status. Must have the ability to travel to assignment.

DESCRIPTION:  

  • Perform a variety of educational and support services to help achieve productive learning experiences.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to help students pursue their intellectual, social, and emotional potentials.
  • Promote the inclusion of students with disabilities into regular classroom and school activities.

LOCATION: Defiance, PDY, and Swanton

SALARY:  Per the adopted salary schedule based on training and experience
